For me, Iruya is actually the most magical place I have found in Argentina. Unlike other popular towns in the region, Iruya is located far from the main road, so getting here is quite a journey. Along the way, we will see phenomenal mountain views and finally reach the most magical place. Iruya is a place where you come to spend some time in peace, to think about life, to feel the atmosphere of the place, to learn something about the local culture. The town is tiny, but beautifully situated, next to a gorge, surrounded by majestic mountains. Walking around the village means constant delight with extraordinary views of the surrounding area. On the local streets we pass friendly locals who talk to us. Everything is so unusual here. Even the local cemetery, full of colorful flowers, was one of the most interesting ones I have visited. It's amazing that so many things surprise me in such a small Iruya.
