Tall, imposing and, above all, intriguing. This is the church of Santa María de San Antolín. Begun in the 11th century and with subsequent reforms, it has a single nave and has escorted the town hall of Ibias since time immemorial. Flanked by the extensive Asturian mountains, it takes in the shade provided by a tree with dense green hair located to its left. Dreary like few others and grayish in color, it could perfectly be the setting for a Halloween movie. Nothing could be further from the truth. When observing it, the gaze inevitably goes to its double and slender bell tower ending in a belfry. Covered in its lower part by a small vaulted ceiling, it keeps its most notable attraction inside. It is a mural painting located in the presbytery.
