Pictured is a closeup view of a bloom of yellow jewelweed, binomial name Impatiens pallida along the Craggy Pinnacle Trail which starts at the Craggy Dome Overlook at Blue Ridge Parkway milepost 364. The popular Craggy Pinnacle Trail is accessed from the upper parking lot at the the overlook. It is a 1.4 mile round trip out and back, taking you to one of the best 360 degree Summit views on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway is the longest linear park in the United States, running 469 miles along the spine of the Blue Ridge, a major mountain chain that is part of the Appalachian Mountains.
