Black-eyed Susan flowers have additional names, such as daisies, sunflowers or coneflowers, but they all belong to the Rudbeckia genus. This is why collectively refer to all the members of the Black-eyed Susan family as Rudbeckia.The leaves are large and oblong with a stem near the base and smaller and stemless further up the stem. Each flower head as around 10-20 yellow ray flowers around a brown disk. Many of the rudbeckias have dark cones that are brown or nearly black, and so called Black-eyed or Brown-eyed Susan.
