Mussaenda philippica Richard is a vine like climbing shrub in the family Rubiaceae, with brown branches and twigs, thin papery leaves, needle like elliptical shapes, and sparse soft hairs on both sides. The inflorescence is terminal, with a clustered umbrella inflorescence and yellow flowers. The flowering period is from May to October. Some flowers have a sepal that expands into a leaf like, white color.
