Lago di Trasimeno, located in Umbria, northwest of Perugia and Italy’s fourth largest lake, is situated in a strategic position along the migration routs of many species that live in the damp zones and that stop here for the restoration of the energetic reserves necessary for the continutation of their flight. In 1996 the Valley is endowed by the Province of Perugia with the equipment that make accessible to the public, allowing a naturalistic, didactic, touristic and scientific use. Today it is part of the Regional Natural Park of the Lake Trasimeno.
