This is a picture of the historic Allerton Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The Chicago Landmark was opened in 1922 and closed in 1998. The design by architects Murgatroyd and Ogden was the first in Chicago to feature pronounced setbacks and towers. The iconic Tip Top Tap was closed in 1961. Even though the building has reopened under new ownership and name the upper floor signs have remained the same. This picture was taken in October of 2014.
