Image of a bottle brush, flower specimen of callistemon, a genus of shrubs in the family Myrtaceae and order myrtales. The common name, bottle brush, is due to it similarity to the brush used to wash a lot of crystal objects. The entire genus is endemic to Australia but widely cultivated in many other regions and naturalized in scattered locations. This specimen was pictured in Alta de Lisboa (High Lisbon), a new area of the Portuguese main city where these plants are used in public gardens.
