In the X and XI centuries, the town of Bolgar was capital of the Volga Boulgaria, one of the largest early feudal states in Eastern Europe. Later, in the XIII and XIV cent., it was the first capital of Golden Horde. Situated in one of the most important, from strategic and trade points of view, places in Eastern Europe. It had played, from the very beginning, a great role in history of the peoples that lived in the Volga Region and a significant role in the history of the entire Eastern Europe.
