Tulip. Tulip (lat. Túlipa) — genus of perennial herbaceous bulbous plants of the Lily family (Liliaceae), in modern sistematico including more than 80 species. The centre of origin and greatest diversity of species tulips — the mountains of Northern Iran, Pamir-Alai and Tien-Shan. Within 10-15 million years of evolution tulips spread to Spain and Morocco in the West to Transbaikalia in the East and to the Sinai Peninsula in the South. In the North introduced populations of Tulip forest made up of Scotland and the southern coast of Scandinavia.
