Maduwanwela Walawwa is a colonial house in upper south of SriLanka. In 1974, it was transferred to the state and taken over by the Department of Archaeological and converted into a museum.One of the most remarkable and awe inspiring facets in the interior of the Walawwa are the paved floors which have been laid out in a mosaic style with chipped tiles bought over from the Netherlands. The colourful and intricate detailing in the mosaic leaves an impressive, lasting impression on any visitor.
