This shrine of Virgin Mary was erected near the entrance of Florence Catholic Church The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary 1912. Similar tile mosaics can be found elsewhere in Arizona and New Mexico. With predominantly Latino/Mexican populations such shrines depict Our Lady of Guadalupe, whose original hangs above the altar of the Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico City. Our Lady of Guadalupe pictures would include roses in some way, as they play an important part in her mythology. Please, check out my portfolio for more similar photos.
