The Maha Kumbha Mela is a religious festival that happens in India every 12 years. At the this festival site, which is the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and underground Saraswati river, thousands of sadhus, sanyasis, monks, babas, naga babas, renunciates, and common folk converge to bath in the Holy river during an auspicious astrological alignment that promises the nectar of immortality to the faithful. The Festival also has numerous camps where the sadhus, who often live in private monasteries or in seclusion in the Himalayas, give lectures and classes on God and religion. The Kumbha Mela is the largest religious festival on the planet.
