The Bodelschwingh house is a water castle in the Bodelschwingh district of Dortmund, which belongs to the municipal district of Mengede. It is one of 18 aristocratic sites in Dortmund and is considered to be the largest and most representative facility in the city. The present castle was the seat of the family of Bodelschwingh and developed from a simple two-roomed house of the Late Middle Ages, built in the 16th / 17th century.
